Hoods Up! - A Collection Of Recordings

Hoods Up! was made a while back by 2 awesome kids that I am sad to say I have yet to more than mumble a few words and bummed a cigarette to collectively. They are just rad kids and it shows in their music.

If I could pick one thing I've posted so far that I just want everyone to download and hear it's this. "A collection of recordings" ranging from an emotional hailstorm of screams, drumbeats, and guitar (Dead In A Week) to some of the saddest acoustic tracks I've ever heard (I Dream Of Deserts). Check this album out and high five Brett and Ryan if you eve run into them. There needs to be more music like this.

Hugh Laurie - Let Them Talk

I won't pretend to know anything about Blues but this album completely blew me away. It's very heartfelt and soulful, everything I would assume makes up a good blues album. The lyrics are great and it has a very professional, tight feel to it. Check it out, it's a good listen. I know I'm going to start listening to a lot more of this stuff.

Teenage Cool Kids

Catchy as shit indie rock band that you need to be listening to. Fuck pretending to write reviews, just download the music. It's really good I promise. <3

Cattle Drums - Boy Kisser Sessions

The guys over at Black With Sap dropped this album a while back and it's occupied a large part of my playlist ever since. I guess I would have to call this album sort of post-hardcore/punk but it's difficult to pin down. Great band with rad lyrics. Yea, I know, I say every band has good lyrics. get over it. Here's an example so you don't think I'm just repeating that to fill up space.

From I Know Who Killed Me:

"I received a candle like a baton on my birthday. instructions to share some light, but instead i hung it upside down until hot wax melted out my eyes. blind as a bat but i know in my heart my eyes are on the inside."

Flashlights - I'm Not Alone

This band is great, I don't know what to say besides that. They are an emo/punk band with some of my favorite lyrics to sing along to. They are fast, flippy, and just straight up awesome. I'm tired and don't feel like typing so here is just a sample of the lyrics from the first song on this album called Choking:

"What the fuck do I know? Flowers and candies can't say what I want them to. Fuck talking on the phone. The conversation starts to sink and simple things get confused. It's my fault. It's all my fault. Again, I'll bend into any shape you'll understand, any spot, just tell me where to stand. I'll understand. Again, I'll break into pieces in your arms."

Here is the Mediafire for their LP I'm not Alone but I strongly suggest you also jump on over to their bandcamp and snag all their EPs as well.

Tim Blood And The Gutpanthers - Summer Of Our Discontent

My friend Taylor dropped me a comment telling me to post more music and I told him I would do it as soon as I had the time. Immediately after saying that I realized "Taylor is a fantastic kid and one of my best friends. He deserved better than that." So here we are, it's 4 in the morning and I have to head to work in 2 and a half hours but this is important! wooo!

Tim Blood And The Gutpanthers is a sick punkish band from Moscow, Idaho and they jumped right up to my "20 most played" playlist. Awesome lyrics and just groovy as shit. You all should check them out based solely on how awesome their name is. Great band, I promise.

Say Hi To Your Mom - Numbers And Mumbles

Say Hi To Your Mom is an indi rock album that doesn't suck! This is a solo project by Eric Elbogen and for the first time I'm not ashamed to say I listen to "indi" music. Catchy music and good lyrics. I'm too tired to type to just download it.
